Blest Be the Tie that Binds
Nov 09, 2016 by Matt Froehlich
There are many, many ties that are blessed in “Christian love”. The tie between God and his church. The tie between fellow Christians. The tie between husband and wife.
One tie that St. Mark is blessed with is the tie between the Church and the School. While separate entities in many ways, they are tied and intermingled in such a way that neither would be what it is without the other. And what a joy it is that each has a partner to push, challenge and rise to the occasion with them in the “Keep the Promise” campaign.
The Church and School are strong, growing and supportive of the other. The Church supports the School through prayer and volunteerism. The School supports the Church in providing the potential for new members through students’ families. Each shares facilities is intertwined to the point that a visitor likely can’t tell where one ends and the other begins.
Both the Church and School are blessed with enthusiastic, energetic and extremely talented leaders and staff. It’s a great thing to see those individuals engaged and participating in both Church and School activities, exemplified this past month at the School’s Fall Festival and the Church’s Reformation Luncheon.
I’ve enjoyed seeing and being a part of the transformation and strengthening of both the Church, the School and their relationship with each other in the 5 years I’ve been a member at St. Mark. With the “Keep the Promise” campaign, I look forward to many more years of blessings that each provides for the other.
